With any luck, I’ll finish Admin tomorrow, and be on my way home Sunday.
It seems I’ll be stuck taking a bus to Ft Pickett, and have to be picked up there. So we’re still looking to sometime Sunday evening.

I’m so ready to be home. Not even anything here, this hasn’t been bad, anoying at times, fustrating, but not to bad. I want to be home with my family, with Sara. I really can’t stand it much longer.. I just need to be home, to hold her, to feel the comfort when I do. The last 3 weeks has felt longer than the entire deployment.. and I can’t wait to be home. Home at last.

We arrived at Dix about 7:30pm EDT. I’ve moved into my room, and I’ve got my bed all setup. We start demob tomorrow.

If all goes alright, I ought to be on a plane to Richmond Next Sunday.
My cell phone is back online, and the Wifi works in my room, so I ought to be connected rater well while I’m stuck here at Dix.

I’ma catch some sleep now, talk to yall later.

Last Time in Ireland

I’m in Ireland!

I’m currently sitting in the smoking area in the Shannon, Ireland Airport.
Another 8 hour flight ahead of me, and I’ll be at Fort Dix, NJ. Yay!

They say we’ll spend a few days at Fort Dix, and then we’ll be heading to Pickett. Two days at Pickett and We’re home free!

I was hoping more people would be on Yahoo, alas, nope.

Last Moment Thoughts

Well, we completed our Change of Athority Ceremony this morning. The next unit officially owns our mission, this building, and everything in it. Good Riddens. We’re not to far out from leaving this FOB, so this might be the last chance I have to communicate with you before Ireland/Germany. Hope everyone is doing well and I can’t wait to see you.

I’m still alive and kickin’ though.

Coming Home

I’ve waited a long time to post this here, and the day seems to have finally come.

They tell me I will be walking through the front door of my house before this month comes to an end. The end of the tunnel is near, I can see it clearly now, and it is beautiful. We’ve made it. I’ve struggled through, with your help, and here I am, nearing completion. I thank each and every one of you for being my support thoughtout this ordeal. I love you all.

I plan on traveling to NH shortly after I get home, to visit the people I didn’t get to see while I was home on leave. First, I’m going to celebrate a little bit with the people I used to see everyday.
