RIP John

Today, my unit lost a soldier, and it had nothing to do with war.

When we moblized, a handfull of soldiers didn’t make it through the mob process for various reasons. John Williams was one of those soldiers. He was sent home to Blackstone, VA. Saturday night, his car went off the road just a few miles from Fort Pickett, VA… our home station, hit a tree, and he died at the scene.

I didn’t know him very long, but I honestly feel like I’ve lost a distant brother somewhere. Ironically, he would have likly lived if he had actually deployed to Iraq with us. We’ll never know now. Poor soul.

Rest in Peace Specialist John Williams.
