Blip

…as bad as all that seems..enjoy every minute, for those memories will last you a life time and when you look back it will seem like just a brief blip in your life.

This was a comment that someone posted recently, and it’s very true. I was talking to my roommate tonight, and we were talking about people we know, and the people we’ve met here. Now, I know this may very well be a contradiction to the post just before this one, but honestly, I will miss the people I’ve met on this deployment. As shitty as it’s been to be away from home, and as crappy as it is living with another guy and going to bed alone every night, the people that I work work day-in and day-out, that I hang out with.. that I live, eat and play with.. I’m going to miss them when this is over. I’ll always have a story to tell, I guess that’s really the only reason why I’m glad I’ve done this. I now have something to talk about that not a whole lot of people can relate to. lol. And the people that can relate? Suddenly, we have more in common. Perhaps it’ll help there too.

I’ve had as wonderful a Christmas as I could have had in a cold desert. I wasn’t bothered once by the office asking me to do something. I’ve spend the entire day laying around watching movies, playing a game, or sleeping. The dinner was much better this time then it was for thanksgiving, which feels like it was yesterday.

Alright, I have finished my last movie for the night, and I’m off to bed. 5am comes swiftly.
