I miss my friends

No matter how many people I meet here, no matter how many “friends” I make here.. none are like my old ones at home.. and I miss them dearly. The ones that already know who I am.. understand that I’m not being weird when I randomly ask “where you goin?” I’m just curious. (tho, I know I can be annoying with it, my friends understand.) They understand how quirky I can be sometimes, how stupid things that don’t mean anything to anyone else, can mean so much to me.

How at ease I am around them. They are my friends; and I miss them dearly.

    It’s funny how a season that is suppose to bring joy brings most of us so much melancholy. It is a time when instead of thinking of all we have we tend to dwell on what we don’t. I remember those Christmas’ far from home and somehow they were always bigger and better in my imagination than in real life. Matt you are young,healthy, and have your whole life to look forward to. Look at it this way you got less than 150 days and a wake up before you will be back with your friends. Man, that is just a drop in the bucket when it comes to time, so try to think of it in days, not hours. One other little bit of advice…as bad as all that seems..enjoy every minute, for those memories will last you a life time and when you look back it will seem like just a brief blip in your life. Have a great Christmas we miss you and are counting those 150 days with you. Grady

    christmas, away from home ,is one of the hards thing to go though. we all went through that , Just do your best and get through, till your time to go home comes for your weeks at home and your family down south . your army friends will help you get through it, my friends in the army, we helped each other. Love you

    hi Matt,
    Sara came by today and gave us a gift from you and her from red lobster i want to thank you so much you know how i love lobster, her mom and dad sent some candy to us to it was so nice of her.
